New law for better cycle paths in Wales
The Welsh Government has proposed a new law placing a duty on local authorities to map the walking and cycling routes in their area and make a plan and budget to improve them. Wales is being touted as the first country for such law to be introduced.

After Olympic cyclist Chris Boardman joined health experts and others to give evidence at today's Get Britain Cycling inquiry hearing, CTC has expressed dismay that the government departments for education, employers and the environment all declined to send witnesses.

No to higher lorry speeds
CTC has voiced its opposition to Government proposals to raise the speed limit for goods vehicles on rural single-carriageway roads, saying this would worsen cycle safety on rural lanes.

CTC welcomes £62m cycle spending announcement, but urges consistency
CTC and other cycling groups have welcomed today's Government announcement explaining how £62m of cycling funding for England will be spent - including £30m for up to 3 'cycling cities'. But CTC urges that larger and more consistent commitments will be needed if we are to 'Get Britain Cycling'.

2013 Orbital Cycling Festival at Goodwood
On 26-28 July, on the weekend following the finish of the 100th Tour de France, CTC will be at the first Orbital Cycling Festival, at Goodwood Motor Circuit, near Chichester.

Cargo bike sharing scheme in Hereford
With the help of CTC, Hereford Pedicabs and Pedicargo are launching an innovative community cargo bike share scheme in the St James area of Hereford. If successful, this type of scheme could be rolled out in other towns and cities.

Bob Kynaston 1940 - 2013
It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Bob Kynaston on 18 January 2013 after a short illness. Bob had been a CTC member for over 50 years, and the driving force behind the Tourist Competition for nearly 20 of those years.

Team CTC is launched - now meet the riders
CTC's sponsorship of an elite women's road racing team was announced at The London Bike Show on Saturday 19 January. The team members will enter a series of events in the UK and abroad, and will also act as ambassadors for women's cycling.
