CTC has teamed up with PACE and the Forestry commission at Dalby Forest in Pickering, North Yorkshire, to provide the complete cycling experience. We are offering a new range of mountain bike skills development sessions and led rides as well as our traditional range of education courses and qualifications. Our partners PACE are providing top of the range bike hire and sales as well as servicing and repairs.

Dalby is a fantastic location with great facilities and a really friendly team. It has the full array of bike trails from green to black and many routes off the beaten track to explore.

From Dixon’s Hollow mtb skills area and pump track to the rolling  fields of Adderstone loops, varied woodland and pine forests give you an all round mountain biking experience. You can even test yourself on the world cross country mtb course taking in Worry Gil and Medusa’s drop.

Cycling Provision

There is provision for all at Dalby, with specially adapted equipment and electric bikes so it has never been easier to get involved with cycling.

There is plenty to do for young people with a range of games and skills sessions as well as qualifications if you are looking to really move forward with your mountain biking.

Our skill development courses are a great way to up skill whether you are a beginner looking to gain some more confidence or an experienced rider looking to hone the key skills to take you on to the next level.

Dalby is ideal for our traditional education courses. Our trail and technical leader courses are perfectly suited to Dalby with the surrounding area offering a great mixture of challenging terrain to get you ready to lead groups on your own.

Entry

There is an additional entry fee to the forest park that  we are not allowed to include in our course costs and has to be paid on arrival.

£7 per car in the summer, £4 per car in the winter.

It is possible to not pay the parking charge, by riding in to Dalby Courtyard on the road or the Ellerburn Trail for example from Thornton le Dale (approx 4 miles). For some courses we can cover the cost of the fee or you can arrive very early to avoid paying the fee.

Food and Accommodation

Dalby is a non residential course venue. Food and accommodation are not included with the course.

There is however a cafe on site providing hot food and refreshments at a 20% discount for CTC visitors.

4 Miles on the road from Thornton le Dale

Parking
