Gridiron 100km

Local Group Event (inc DATC and Audax Rides)
Sportive/Challenge Ride

The route is a circuit of the New Forest, as far as possible along minor forest roads, which of necessity crosses many cattle grids - hence the ‘Gridiron’. New Forest ‘Commoners’ have the right to graze their animals on the forest and they roam free. The cattle grids are there to keep them in the forest but not off the roads. If their cattle, ponies, donkeys or pigs decide to cross the road, they will! They have ‘right of way’ so be careful.
