Great day for a pump track ride

On a sunny weekend at the end of September, the inaugural Yorkshire Bicycle Show was held in Leeds. CTC was one of the main sponsors and staff and volunteers from West Yorkshire and National Office turned out with the ever popular Shoretrax Pump track. See just how much fun was had by all!

Knowing the organisers first-hand from previous CTC Cycle Champs events was a real bonus. It meant that we had pride of place outside the Town Hall with our Shoretrax pump track and fleet of bikes on loan from Calderdale Council Cycling team. We also had plenty of stand space inside the extremely grand venue where we promoted our Road Justice Campaign and signed people up for CTC membership.

As the track took shape, excitement gathered and a busy day was enjoyed by young cyclists.

CTC Bike Parks are an exciting cluster of four sites set in glorious landscapes across South-East England. Managed by local volunteer clubs in partnership with CTC, the Bike Parks feature challenging downhill runs, dirt jumps, freeride trails and much more.

All of these sites rely on the enthusiasm, passion and hard work of the Club Committees and volunteers. Your day passes and/or annual membership fees cover the cost of managing and developing these sites, safeguarding the opportunities for mountain biking for now and into the future.

They are all keen to hear from anyone looking to get involved and support their local trails, so feel free to get in touch and keep an eye on the sites' websites, Facebook pages and Twitter accounts to find out how you can get involved.

This Westminster Briefing event will consider the Government's anticipated cycling and walking delivery plan - and the infrastructure & policy issues it examines. How will this differ from previous Government initiatives, and how the work of local authorities will be affected?

Following our morning policy session, we will focus on examples of effective practice in the afternoon and look to the future of cycling and walking initiatives.
