Photoshoot at Aston Hill

On Tuesday 24 July, I awoke to a bright and sunny day and could think of no better way to spend it than riding my bike. Thankfully, I had already been asked to ride around Aston Hill for a photoshoot

The purpose of the day was to get some up-to-date photos of mountain bikes in an amazing setting. So CTC's Senior Off-Road Officer Ian Warby  and I  teamed up with junior downhill rider, Josh Lowe, to pose on bikes in Aston Hill.

Deans Community High School pupils meet Nigel Mansell

Pupils at Deans Community High School met the former Formula 1 star on 14 June but this time he was on two wheels instead of four. Nigel cycled through Livingston as part of a 1300 mile charity cycle ride from John O'Groats to Paris over 12 days, raising funds for Youth Charity UK Youth.

On his arrival at the school Nigel was greeted by pupils, parents and staff all keen to find out how his cycle through Scotland over the last three days had been. Amazingly his time north of the border was spent mostly cycling in the sunshine.

Larbert High School S1 Cycle Roadshow

Three hundred S1 pupils at Larbert High School tried out different cycling activities over three days to encourage more pupils to take up cycling and get involved in cycling activities. They also organised their first ever girls only mountain bike trip.

S1 pupils went cycling crazy at Larbert High School this term when they took part in this year’s Cycle road shows.

Although slightly cold, the days stayed dry and pupils had the chance to try out the school's assault course, riding Tandem bikes and tackling hills on mountain bikes. PC Imrie security stamped bikes that pupils brought along on the day and local bike recycling project Recyke-a-bike came along to teach pupils how to fix their bikes. All the pupils are to be congratulated on their effort and enthusiasm.
