New MTB trails at Beecraigs Country Park

Beecraigs is a small country park with big potential. Mountain bikers have been using the park for many years, so it was inevitable that a time would come when some upgrades and maintenance to the existing network of trails would be required - so they called in CTC's Ian Warby.

Located in Scotland’s central belt between Edinburgh and Glasgow,  Beecraigs is a small country park with big potential. The park has recently been awarded some funding from the Criminal Justice Service, this money will help improve the facilities and offer an enhanced experience for all park visitors.

Anna tackles the Three Peaks Cyclocross race in Yorkshire

It's the largest mass-start cycling race in England, and probably one of the toughest too. This year it celebrated 50 years of existence and our local development officer, Anna Cipullo, went out to see what it was all about.
Anna Cipullo tackles Simon Fell

Sunday 30th September saw a shell of a cyclist drag herself passed the muddy finish line of The Three Peaks Cyclocross race. Although, I’m not quite sure you could call it a race. More of a survival test with a whole lot of mental torture. And I wouldn’t quite say it was it was a cyclocross event either, more of a hiking expedition with some road riding and the odd bog diving opportunity. So perhaps and off-road triathlon would be fitting. Anyway, it happened, and boy am I glad it’s over.

Photoshoot at Aston Hill

On Tuesday 24 July, I awoke to a bright and sunny day and could think of no better way to spend it than riding my bike. Thankfully, I had already been asked to ride around Aston Hill for a photoshoot

The purpose of the day was to get some up-to-date photos of mountain bikes in an amazing setting. So CTC's Senior Off-Road Officer Ian Warby  and I  teamed up with junior downhill rider, Josh Lowe, to pose on bikes in Aston Hill.
