This track include approximately 40 features such as berms, 'rollers' and jumps.

More mountain bike trails on the way for England

Scotland and Wales might have some of the best mountain bike trail centres in the world but here's news of two exciting new developments in England.

When it comes to mountain biking it has to be said that the UK can boast some of the best trails in the world, with Wales and Scotland leading the way, England has for a long time been playing catch up. However, it's great to hear of two purpose built trail developments coming soon so we look forward to updating CTC's mountain bike trail map soon.

Merida Brass Monkeys Series - THE WINTER WARMER

The Winter enduro season is upon us and Round 1 of this year’s Merida Brass Monkeys Series - THE WINTER WARMER is on Sunday 25 November at Caesar’s Camp, Aldershot, Hants. The nearest postcode is GU11 1PZ, but when you get close to the venue will be signed.

With Gorrick and the Army involved, supported by Merida. You can opt for 4 hours or 2 hours riding in age related categories over 7-8 mile laps.

There’s a 1 hour event as well if you want to see if enduro riding is for you. It's a Series so all rounds will count and there will be a Podium presentation of trophies on the day at 1500 as well as the Series presentations at the last round.

Pre-entry is now open and will close very soon. Remember, there is no entry  on the day.

Endurance Champions crowned – complete series round up

After six months of intense mountain bike racing at venues stretching from the south coast to the Scottish borders, the inaugural Endurance Series has come to an end and the first ever Champions have been crowned.

Whinlatter Mountain Bike Challenge

Racing started back in March and some familiar names made their mark at the shortest event of the series. Neal Crampton won after a close fought battle with Rich Rothwell and Greig Brown came in third.

In the women’s race Helen Jackson lead from start to finish and Sally Ozanne and Jo Cardwell made their only series appearances. Andy Howett and Kirsty Forrester  made modest starts with top 20 positions to score some vital series points.

Support new mountain biking trails in Devon

More off-road trails could be coming to Devon if a National Trust plan receives enough support.

The National Trust has recently submitted a planning application for new mountain biking trails at Plymbridge in Devon. This is a fantastic opportunity for off-road cycling in Plymouth as having this facility and the investment that comes with it will create new trails and encourage new cyclists.

To show your support, all you have to do is take a couple of minutes to go to the Plymouth City Council website and support for the project.

Aston Hill has long been a favourite of riders across the South-East, including riders and writers for Mountain Bike Rider (MBR) magazine.  It is situated just outside Wendover in the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty and features five graded downhill (DH) runs, a 4X track and a two-part cross-country (XC) loop.
