Ride Tilgate bike park
As of 22nd September 2014 Tilgate is no longer a CTC Bike Park. The Forestry Commission, who own Tilgate, have issued the following statement...

The Tilgate Bike Park was officially opened in 2010 following a partnership agreement between the Forestry Commission (as Landowner), the cycling charity CTC and Ride Tilgate MTB group.

The partnership agreement has now lapsed and the original partners are no longer in a position to fulfil the obligations of managing an official bike park at this location to the standards necessary to ensure user safety.

As a consequence, the Forestry Commission intends to decommission the site as a ‘bike park’ but will retain any trails of acceptable standard to be managed alongside the wider wild trail network at Tilgate forest.

To ensure user safety the Forestry Commission will be inspecting the existing trails over the coming months and will remove features that are no longer safe to retain.

If you have comments over the future of the Tilgate Bike Park then we welcome your feedback. Please contact the Forestry Commission at info.wealdbeat@forestry.gsi.gov.uk, identifying ‘Tilgate Bike Park’ as the subject.

Thank you.
