CTC and Hampshire County Council are working in partnership trying to persuade more urban dwellers in the county to get out on their bikes.
Despite the rather uninspiring weather, the event in Winchester attracted 733 people who were keen to have a go on different types of cycles.
Not only were there KMX carts, an electric powered bike and a tandem, but also a range of quality children's bikes and bikes designed to transport families in real style.
This event marked the beginning of a summer of events in Fleet and Winchester, which will include: Adult cycle training and a led ride programme.
CTC Cycling Development Officer for Hampshire Sarah Walker said: "People just didn't want to go home, families stopped to picnic within the cycle area to prolong their enjoyment. Then parents and grandparents were persuaded by the friendly staff and the younger cyclists to hark back to their own youth and get back on a bike."
There is a plan to roll out the programme to Basingstoke, Andover, Farnborough and Aldershot.
