A missing link in the cycle path network alongside the A27 has been opened by the Minister for Transport, Norman Baker MP. The route is another step in providing direct links between towns and villages in an area dominated by a major road.

Innovative cycle lanes with a degree of separation from the road have been introduced on Old Shoreham Road in Brighton. While not perfect, these new lanes are about the best that can be done under current highway design regulations.

Mark Brummell, CTC member and stalwart of the Southampton Cycling Campaign, was hit by a car and killed at Ipley Cross in the New Forest. His friends and colleagues will greatly miss him.

Contra-flow cycling is coming to more streets in the North Laine neighbourhood of central Brighton.

York cycle campaigners attempt to save key cycle route
Water End Junction
CTC cycle campaigners from York do battle to retain the road layout at Water End junction, which includes an advisory cycle lane. Some local residents have claimed since it was introduce it has caused increased traffic congestion. Local campaigners are fighting for it to stay on safety grounds.

Success for local campaigners in Wendover
Success for local campaigners in Wendover
The first cycle route to be installed in Wendover for five years was opened in the small Buckinghamshire town at the beginning of March.
