Colchester Tour Series 2011

Colchester will be celebrating another amazing Pearl Izumi Tour Series cycle racing day on 30 May 2013 - the race is returning to the town for its fourth year thanks to Colchester Borough Council.

Castle Park will be packed with free events for all ages during the afternoon, including novelty bikes, a 10-second cycling challenge courtesy of Essex University's human performance unit, dance tasters and sports skills sessions.

And CTC is leading two community cycle rides that will culminate in a ride on the actual Tour Series racing circuit meaning that participants can cross the finish line in front of the Colchester crowds!

There will also be the chance to meet members of Team CTC pro-women’s team.

The rides are free and open to all. They will be gentle and relaxing and led by experienced cycle leaders.

The rides are starting at 1pm at two points - Colchester Hythe and Highwoods, and will lead you through the best parts of Colchester’s cycle network before culminating on the high street at 3.30pm for a half hour opening of part of the circuit.

The professional races will commence at 5.30pm, with the women's Johnson Health Tech Grand Prix series followed by the men's race at 7pm.
