CTC releases map showing police commitment to cycle safety in England and Wales
The Road Justice campaign, led by CTC, the national cycling charity, and sponsored by Slater & Gordon Lawyers, has published a map on the campaign website - roadjustice.org.uk - showing which police forces in England and Wales are committed to improving road safety for cyclists.

CTC attended the opening last week of a new section of Lôn Gwyrfai, a cycling and walking route linking Caernarfon to Waunfawr. The new section joins Rhyd Ddu to Beddgelert.

Alex Paxton, the 27 year-old cyclist who is challenging a fixed penalty notice, appeared at Lavender Hill Magistrates Court this afternoon. He pleaded not guilty and a trial date was set for 5th December.

Following a successful round of crowd-funding, the Cyclists’ Defence Fund (CDF),a charity set up by CTC, the national cycling charity, to fund precedent setting cases involving cycling and the law, will support a 27-year-old cyclist from Putney as he challenges a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) .

Longer, better driver training call supported by CTC
Learning to drive should include elements of cycle awareness
A report commissioned by Government into driver training has concluded that young people learning to drive should spend a maximum of 1 year undertaking the process, including 120 hours of practice. CTC supports the proposal, but suggests that cycle training be an integral part of learning to drive.

13 year old Ed wins DMR Wrath Bike Mountain Bike with his design chosen by Pro rider Olly Wilkins.
The CTC and DMR competition to win the ultimate pump track bike has been won by 13 year old Ed Bartley from Bristol. DMR team rider Olly Wilkins judged the competition this week after the prize was showcased on the CTC stand at the NEC Cycle Show last week.

Welsh Assembly members pass the Active Travel Bill
