Goodwill reiterates footway cycling guidance
National media has become very excited about Cycling Minister Robert Goodwill's affirmation that police should not fine cyclists on the pavement if they are there through a fear of traffic. However, CTC believes that it is better to improve road conditions for cyclists and offer cycle training.

CTC objects to proposed second Lincoln bypass
Campaigners from CTC Lincolnshire have lodged an objection to the new road on the grounds that it will sever existing local roads and provide inadequate crossings. The road will be a test of the cycle proofing commitment made by the Prime Minister in 2013.

The Department for Transport (DfT) has pledged £30,000 to enable CTC, the national cycling charity to revamp its 'Fill That Hole’ pothole reporting website and develop a new app compatible with smartphones running Android software.

London's Cycle Hire least used and most expensive in Europe
Comparative data from various international bike share schemes show that London's cycle hire scheme is one of the least used and is the most expensive public scheme to operate. The lack of a cycle network in central London is likely to be the main reason why usage is so much lower.

Construction industry launches new code of practice
Transport for London and the construction industry have launched a new code of practice for construction logistics, which is focused on managing work related road risk (WRRR). Lorries were responsible for 21 of the 40 cyclist deaths in London over the last 3 years.
