Scotland revises action plan for cycling
The refreshed Cycling Action Plan for Scotland
The Cycling Action Plan for Scotland (CAPS), first published in 2009, set out the ambitious vision for 10% of trips to be made by bike by 2020. Over a third of the time has passed, but Scotland's modal share has barely increased.

CTC welcomes the news that Parliament will now debate the findings of the ‘Get Britain Cycling’ report and urges that the Chancellor shows a similar commitment to cycling when he unveils his Comprehensive Spending Review decisions on government funding next Wednesday 26 June.

Team CTC put in best performance of JHTGP series campaign in Woking

In a race that saw staff from the CTC national office in Guildford cheering them on, Team CTC's trio of Lydia Boylan, Tamina Oliver and Astrid Wingler gave their all to send the crowd home happy as the Johnson Health Tech Series made its way to Woking for the fourth round on Tuesday afternoon.

Campaign success - McCourt sentence will be appealed
Today ( May 31st 2013) CTC, the national cycling charity and the family of cyclist Audrey Fyfe are pleased to hear that the Crown Counsel in Edinburgh has decided to refer Gary McCourt’s sentence for appeal, following a campaign by CTC and other organisations’ supporters.

London takes a step towards risk-based approach to road safety

A new road safety plan for the next 7 years has been launched for London. CTC was critical of earlier drafts for failing to include the means to measure the risks of cycling, rather than simply the number of people seriously injured or killed.

Careless driving fixed penalty welcomed
More traffic police are needed to make best use of the new FPN
CTC welcomes the fixed penalty notice for careless driving and the associated 50% increase in all motoring fixed penalties to £100, but urges that dangerous driving still needs to be dealt with by the courts.

Team CTC's Oliver and Payton pushed to the limit on tough Redditch course

Tamina Oliver and Hannah Payton put on a strong showing for Team CTC as the Johnson Health Tech GP Series entered its third round in Redditch on Tuesday afternoon. The duo finished in the top half of the field in a sterling performance.
