Two top ten places for Team CTC riders in Banbury

Lydia Boylan and Tamina Oliver were well placed in Sunday's Banbury Star Road Race, which is part of the women's National Team Series. Over a distance of 72km, the pair worked at the front of the race throughout.

Privateer Beastway MTB Series 2013

The Privateer Beastway mountain bike race series, one of the longest running in the UK, re-launched on Wednesday 29th May at Redbridge Cycling Centre in Essex. The iconic grass roots series will run every Wednesday evening for eight weeks.

The AA and BSM launch cycle awareness module for all driving instructors

CTC has welcomed the announcement by the AA and BSM that they will roll out a cycle awareness module to its driving instructors. The absence of cycle training for teenagers and the poor understanding of needs and rights of cyclists by some of the population has lead to aggressive behaviour.

In early May 2013 new guidance from the Crown Prosecution Service on prosecuting acts of bad driving was published. It includes a potentially important addition in determining what should be charged as 'dangerous' rather than 'careless' driving.

Thousands of cyclists join victims’ families to demand a proper sentence for driver who killed twice
This morning the Chief Executive of CTC - the national cycling charity - will hand a letter to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service in Edinburgh to register a formal appeal against what the charity has called a ‘scandalous’ sentence handed down on May 3rd to Gary McCourt.

New research from DirectLine insurance seems to show that a minority of drivers don't 'notice' cyclists and walkers, despite being visible. Female drivers are worse than males and younger drivers are worse than everyone else: 31% fail to see cyclists, apparently.

During one hour alone last night, 1,200 people signed an e-petition calling on the Prime Minister to implement the recommendations of the 'Get Britain Cycling' All Party Parliamentary report, which was released yesterday Wednesday 24 April.
