'MyJourney' has been adopted by Hampshire County Council as its sustainable travel brand, covering a broad spectrum of work to promote sustainable travel options. CTC is taking a lead in cycling, with a particular focus on Winchester, Basingstoke, Andover, Fleet, Farnborough and Aldershot.
CTC is delivering a behaviour change package designed to encourage cycling and to build on other work going on in the area. Working with businesses, community groups, schools and individuals, barriers are identified and solutions and incentives offered to those who are considering cycling.
By focussing on urban areas and short journeys of up to five miles, it is hoped that more people will choose to cycle more often for at least some of their journeys. Emphasising the positive benefits of two wheels and people power, the aim is to inspire and promote a positive and healthy cycling culture.
Key to this exciting work is the role of local advocates. While MyJourney is able to deliver Dr Bike sessions, maintenance classes, led rides, events and Try Cycling opportunities through paid suppliers, the aim is to work with local volunteers who will be trained and supported to help new cyclists beyond the formal funding period.

These are perfect for a family with young children or if you are new to cycling or just looking to get back in the saddle. The routes will follow local cycle routes and paths taking in local amenities and landmarks. We hope this will give you greater knowledge of the local cycle network while practicing cycle skills in a supervised and safe environment. We will never be too far from the start or leave anyone behind.
