Affiliate membership for cycling clubs and groups of all types and sizes
Affiiating your cycling group to CTC brings many benefits
Whichever type of cycling you do, whether on or off-road, many people enjoy riding as a group. For example, people in the workplace, community and campaigning groups, as well as traditional cycling clubs, may organise cycling activities.
These groups of cyclists can arrange their activities in either a formal manner (e.g. with a membership subscription) or in an informal way (e.g. by using social media or an email distribution list). CTC supports groups that operate in an organised manner.
It is our very strong recommendation that no such group should organise cycling activities for others without considering some form of liability insurance to protect its leaders and officers from personal liability.
By affiliating your group to CTC, you will obtain our comprehensive Organisers' Liability insurance cover (see attached PDF below) of up to £10 million to protect your event organisers and volunteer ride leaders against any claims made against them. In addition, affiliating to CTC provides:
- The opportunity for members of your group to become individual affiliated CTC members for only £16 per year, which will provide them with Third Party cover;
- Your events listed on the CTC website;
- A copy of our award-winning magazine ‘Cycle’ every two months.
Group Affiliate Membership
CTC Group Affiliate Membership costs just £60 per annum (regardless of your group size) with a one off registration fee of £25 at the point of joining.

CTC Affiliated Membership for Individuals
Once your group has affiliated, you will be given a unique code your individual members can use to join online. It costs just £16 for individual members to take out club affiliation which will cover them should they cause any damage or injury to anybody else while cycling to a Third Party.
They will also receive:
- Access to a wide range of retail discounts including Wiggle and Cotswold Outdoor;
- An entertaining weekly e-newsletter, ‘CycleClips’, full of all the latest cycling news.
Note only full CTC members have automatic access to legal claims advice.
