Not often, but sometimes we do 'led rides' out of the athletics track area, usually into the neighbouring country park

Charge

Yes. Charge is £3 per disabled participant per session, which gets one carer/parent/support worker in free (extra carers/supporters pay £1 each). 

Limitations on use

None, although participants must have registered with WfW (no charge for registration), we do try to share out time on popular machines, and to prevent non-disabled siblings from using machines that disabled participants want to use.

(approx 40 machines available for each session)

Booking arrangements / times / charges etc

No booking arrangements; open sessions run on Tuesday mornings between 10am and 1pm and Saturday mornings between 10am and 12.30pm, other sessions for specific user groups run occasionally at other times; There is no time limit so some participants stay for the whole session time.

Year round / seasonal

Year round: we close for 3 weeks over Christmas (no sessions from Sat 22 Dec 2012 to Sat 5 Jan 2013 inclusive), and we have to cancel 5 or 6 Tuesday sessions during May to July each year because of School Sports Days.

Other facilities

Free car parking available in large car park just outside gates to track; two wheelchair accessible toilets; free drinks available (tea, coffee and water).

Suggested routes

Flat, traffic-free, 8-lane 400m athletics track.

Offer advice on suitability of bikes for riders?

We have trained cycling instructors available to advise/assess rider's suitability for various machines
