Activities

We offer an introduction to handcycling over the course of a weekend where those without handcycles can try one of ours.

Session one is structured training on an athletics track. Session two is a short led road ride. Session three is a longer and more challenging led road ride. Newcomers often only attend the first two sessions.

Charge

Expectation is that those who attend will make a donation towards the cost of the session.

Limitations on use

Only limitation is that participants can transfer onto handcycle without assistance from our (disabled) volunteers.

All who attend are welcome to bring their own helper if required.

Stoke Mandeville Stadium and the Olympic Lodge are compressively accessible – parking, accommodation, toilets, cafe, showers etc.

We have routes for our led rides.

Offer advice on suitability of bikes for riders?

We can offer advice based on what the bikes is required for (racing, touring etc) but that is limited by there being relatively few different types of handcycle available on the market.
