About us

Fareham Wheelers is a cycling club for all ages and abilities that caters for all standards of cycling, from beginner & youth to veteran. The club has a friendly atmosphere and is also competitive when it comes to racing and time trials. Founded in 1927, the club has a great history, which you can find out about on our website's history pages and image archives!

Every Sunday morning throughout the year, we meet for a Club group ride - the “club run”. With three groups to choose from, you can join in either the social/taster group, the intermediate group or the fast group around the Hampshire countryside, finishing at a tea shop for refreshment. Rides vary between 25 to 60 miles, you choose.

During the spring and summer season the club holds time trials over various distances and promotes two road races. FWCC has an active road racing team and provides coaching support for Junior and Youth riders. Several members take part in racing at the Mountbatten Track at Portsmouth and at the Thruxton and Goodwood circuits.

Whether you ride for leisure or sport, cycling is a great way to get fit and stay in shape and a club is the best place to get started, share advice, find out about cycling events and of course, enjoy riding with other keen cyclists. We meet socially on Tuesday evenings at Catisfield Memorial Hall, Fareham, 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

Fareham Wheelers Cycling Club are a CTC affilated group. For more information please go to the Fareham Wheelers CC Website.

Information about the group rides

The Club Run is a weekly ride which takes place each Sunday (except Christmas Day) throughout the year, starting from the car park at Wickham Community Centre at 0900 sharp. (Get there at 0845 for the rider briefing).

We hope you enjoy riding the club runs; the tradition is one of the most important foundations in the club. Members are welcome to join others for rides on selected routes through the countryside of Hampshire and surrounding counties. The club run is solely about enjoying being on your bike with others and keeping fit at the same time.

Prospective members are welcomed to try three club runs before we ask that you join the club, so you can see for yourself if the club is for you.

Though don't forget to check out the 'What to Bring' section on our site here: http://www.fareham-wheelers.org/club-run-groups--hints-tips-and-rules

The club run is formed of different groups of varying distance and speed to suit different abilities.
