About our group

Blackmore Vale & Yeo Valley is a Local Member Group.

Area:  We cover a wide area of South Somerset, North Dorset and South West Wiltshire. Due to the widespread location of our members, we offer a variety of start points for our rides, normally within the area Yeovil, Sparkford, Castle Cary, Bruton, Wincanton, Gillingham, Stalbridge and Sherborne.

Cycling:  The wide area indicated above provides an extensive area of beautiful countryside and quiet lanes to explore. We are a mixed ability group, with both "traditional" rides averaging around 9-11 mph and further/faster rides averaging 12-15 mph. No one ever gets left behind.

We run ‘Coffee Stops’ on Tuesday Mornings, Club Rides every weekend (Saturdays and/or Sundays) and Midweek Rides several times a month.

Weekend Rides:  These can either meet for coffee at 10am and start at 10.30 or start between 9am - 9.30 so please check the details for each ride or contact the leader for more information. We tend to picnic during BST and eat in cafés/pubs or picnic in GMT.  You can ride to the start for extra mileage or drive to the start and ride from there.
