Cycle-Counts best practice
Official rates of cycle use are usually underestimates.
When conducting a cycle count try to:
- Do it in summer and avoid thunderstorms.
- Do it in the morning rush-hour.
- Don't fudge the figures.
- State on the result sheet the time and weather conditions for the count.
- Don't let the council or company bury it - distribute your findings widely.
- Cite it as research in your literature.
- Send out a press release with your results.
