Forming Cycle Campaigning Groups
Forming a Group
Cycle groups bring like-minded individuals together, providing much-needed support and enthusiasm, potential income, continuity and an increased legitimacy as a formal organisation. Having a group to share the workload keeps everyone's energy levels up, and enables the sharing of ideas and strategies. Groups also help you keep up the momentum - having a regular meeting time fast approaching often prompts people to get the work done that they promised to do!
Every journey starts with a first step - and often the hardest element of a cycle group is getting one together in the first place. Once you have your core members and meetings are established in everyone's diaries then you may find that the group begins to run itself.
However, a clear strategy in the early stages should see you through the difficult early days. Contact the CTC Volunteer Support Officer - for support and advice.
