Cycling into Summer with the CTC
Colchester Cycle Champions has lots of activities this summer so that you and your friends can re-discover the pleasure of cycling. We’ve got lots of gentle and easy cycle rides and we’re also offering cycle refreshers where you can brush up on your cycle skills. And we’re introducing bike maintenance sessions so you can feel confident fixing that puncture!
‘Cycling Sisters’ are Cycling it for Themselves
Cycle Champions volunteer, Sandra Meadows is starting a new Wednesday morning ride for women who want to cycle 15 – 20 miles at a good but nevetheless slower pace than some of the more male-dominated rides. Please email your interest to Sandra.
CTC District Association Ride
Thursdays 7.15pm, outside Tenpin, Leisure World; social ride to a village pub, led by Pete Finch (Suffolk DA), lasting two hours. Don’t forget your lights!
Love Your Bike — Help is at Hand
Always wanted to fix a puncture but not felt sure how? Not sure how to stop the squeaky brakes? We’re here to help with new bike maintenance sessions.
We realise that not everybody wants to know how to strip a bike down and re-build it so we’re offering sessions which help get people started and give people confidence to do some regular basic adjustments that will make all the difference.
For more information on this or any other activities email Richard.
Feel Refreshed Back on a Bike
We’ve also got friendly refresher sessions to help you get back on a bike. We do:
- Sessions to help you get started
- Confidence booster sessions to give you the skills for cycling on-road or with the family
- Advanced cycle training

Cycling Heritage Discovered
Re~Cycle unearthed a great piece of cycling heritage from thirty years ago.
This RoSPA handbook is a font of useful information that is still relevant after 30 years.
