In this time, Brian has held many positions within both the Southeast Essex Member Group (S.E.M.G) and the Essex CTC Parent Member Group. In the S.E.M.G, he has been the secretary, a runs leader, the runs secretary, the treasurer and minute’s secretary.
At P.M.G. level Brian has held various positions including P.M.G. President. Currently Brian acts as minute’s secretary for the P.M.G. at AGM’s. Brian’s extensive knowledge and skills as a cyclist are valued in another of his current roles; Promotions Officer for the Essex P.M.G. Brian is enthusiastic about this role and has developed an advertising board with photographs and other information which he takes to various events promoting the benefits of CTC membership and cycling in general.
Brian has a friendly, optimistic, patient and considerate nature. These abilities serve him well as a mediator and in his role of Welfare Officer for S.E.M.G and Essex P.M.G. of the CTC.
Brian is a strong rider who has ridden many Audax events. He also has a very keen passion for cycle-touring and has organised many away tours with the group, both at home and overseas. For many years Brian has served as an event organiser for the P.M.G. and for the S.E.M.G.
Brian has had a very strong positive influence on other members over the 34 years of his membership. Despite having been a CTC member since he was 16, Brian’s enthusiasm for cycling, particularly for cycle-touring, has never faltered.
He is a cornerstone of both the Southeast Essex Member Group and the Essex Parent Member Group. During the time Brian has been with the CTC he has proved to be a jovial and optimistic member and a kingpin to the group a credit to the Essex recreational cycling scene in general. He spends many hours of his spare time working for the section and the P.M.G. Truly an unsung hero of Essex cycling groups.
