As Tourist Competition veteran Lowri Evans explains, the Tourist Competition is different from most competitions :  "The main thing is to have fun, it's about taking part and meeting people.  Don't be put off if you can't ride events in all categories; you don't have to be able to ride a 200k or 300k event to do well.  Choose the events that you think you will enjoy.  It helps if you read the rules so that you have some understanding of the event categories and how the points are awarded.  Lots of organisers put a huge amount of time and effort into arranging events; please take the time to say thank you and enjoy having a chat."

As well as earning points, participants can gain awards in the other element of the CTC Tourist Competition, the Mille Miglia.  Each rider's distance cycled in Tourist Competitions over the year is totted up, and FREE Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates are available for those riding far enough.  You can also purchase an engraved medal to mark your achievement. To view your 2015 Mille Miglia results go to: bit.ly/ctcMilleMiglia14.
