CTC talks cycling to Plymouth University students

Working with colleagues from Plymouth City Council's personal transport planning initiative, 'Plymotion', CTC gave out advice on all aspects of cycling, from routes around the city to how to mend a broken chain, plus all other aspects of sustainable transport options within the city.

Most popular was the offer of recycled bikes from a local community project, Bikespace, who work with youngsters educated out of school. Bikespace funds its continuing activities by selling on donated bikes that the youngsters have helped to bring back into use.

Many students were keen to take up free on-road training offered by the adult cycle training scheme backed by Plymouth City Council and led by CTC's Brett Nicolle. With many student's looking for ways to save money and get around, the combination of recycled bikes and free training should ensure that many more choose cycling as their main form of transport around Plymouth.
