Go MTB Skill Awards

CTC provides a range of skill awards and qualifications to suit a wide range of users to reward young people, enable the delivery of mountain bike activities, right through to instructing high levels of riding skills.

Go MTB Awards

The Go MTB Awards are a series of progressive achievement awards for mountain bikers from novice to expert. All five levels comprise elements of Riding skills, Sharing the outdoors, First aid and Being independent, they can be provided by specially trained Leaders or Skill Instructors.

Go MTB is a partnership between CTC and Cycling Scotland, and has come about through our desire to see young people get more from mountain biking. Each award provides extended learning opportunities, proves abilities and can help lead to a career through the Leader Awards or Skill Instructor schemes.

Skill Awards are successfully used as part of school curriculum programmes, support systems, after school clubs, PE emphasis extensions and vocational programmes such as ASDAN.

Young Leader Award

Progressing from the Go MTB Awards, the Young Leader Award enables gains in confidence, communication, teamwork, independence and motivation.

A single day in duration, the Young Leader course is a great way to begin to develop those attributes required of full Leaders
