CTC has provided MTB Leader qualifications since 1997. A thoroughly proven system of high quality qualifications mean that Leaders can provide for their groups in a wide variety of environments with the best tools and skills to ensure confidence, competence and capability.
Leader Awards
A wide choice of progressive Leader courses suit every level of experience and environment.
Courses link together so that each one picks up from the last, uses it's content and application to further and deepen your knowledge and skills. This enables CTC to employ a unique but widely appreciated integrated training and assessment mechanism throughout each course.
It also means that you can be sure you are qualified, as opposed to just 'trained' as a result of your course.
Dynamic delivery and involvement
We know that learning is more effective when you are having fun, and when you see examples, discuss preferred options and when these relate to your circumstances. Of course getting lots of chances to practise these new and developing skills embeds that for the long term too.
So here at CTC, we have developed flexible and integrated techniques that aid your learning and confidence, and that provide you with reliable tools you can shape and adapt to suit every group, ride and circumstance you encounter as a Leader.
Costs - all inclusive policy
We take an ethical stance on course costs. The price you see per course is the price you pay. There are no hidden 'extras' like registration, logbook, resources, accommodation or annual membership. Though you are expected to maintain a log of led rides following your qualification and keep your first aid up to date, you do not need to pay out money to maintain your Leader status.
CTC Trainers
One of the unique ways that CTC works is by employing a raft of amazing, incredibly experienced and enthusiastic course Trainers. We work collectively, continuously, innovatively to inspire you. CTC's Trainers experiences and thinking have pushed the boundaries of best practice in the outdoors, in mountain biking and in leading for over three decades, benefitting all riders from Leaders and Instructors right through to novice participants.
The professionals choice
CTC provides courses for the largest organisations in the UK as well as some of the smallest. Our customer base includes Forestry Commission; Thomas Cook; Crystal Active; Exodus; many local education authorities and independent providers, with courses and customers in the UK and throughout Europe. Whether a large multi-national or a small independent provider, we are the professionals choice.
Approvals
The CTC scheme is the most widely recognised and valued cycling and mountain bike qualification system available, with UK (Adventure Activities Licensing service) approval as well as acceptance in much of Europe and further afield.
