Public, On Demand and Private courses
Public, On demand and Private courses
All courses ensure the high quality of CTC provision and ensure delegates leave understanding their role and being confident in their capabilities.
CTC has an all inclusive price policy. Registration, extensive course resources, logbooks, certification and tutor costs are included within the costs, meaning there is no annual membership or other charge made to hold your leader or instructor status.
Further, there are three course options
Public courses
are those available for booking as individuals or small groups. These operate at one of our widely distributed and select venues. The course listing of over 70 open courses per year is shown at the calendar pages.
Courses that operate as open courses include:
- Trail Leader
- Technical Leader
- Maintenance Suite
- Skill Instructor
- Go-mtb Orientation
- First Aid in the Outdoors
- Trainer
On Demand courses
are those where we compile waiting lists of those interested, and arrange courses to meet demand. These are generally lower volume courses and providing these on demand enables us to place these at the heart of your needs in terms of timing and location. These operate at one of our widely distributed and select venues.
Courses that operate as On demand courses include:
- Advanced Leader, training and assessments
- Go-mtb Orientation
- Maintenance Fundamentals
- Trailside Maintenance
- Fast Tracker

Private courses
are those operated for preset groups at their venue. Arranged on mutually beneficial dates and locations, these run at an all inclusive flat fee and are designed to account for delegates previous experiences as well as taking advantage of reduced costs due to the existing provision of a venue. All CTC courses can be provided as bespoke options, subject to sufficient numbers and suitablity of venue.
If you have a group of four or more people needing a course at the same level and a suitable teaching venue with appropriate local riding, you could get a special course co-ordinated. The full process is thus:
- Complete and send us a copy of an expression of interest form
- Discuss with CTC your specific needs, the venue and riding possibilities and potential dates
- Sign and return the booking confirmation
Pre-course information will then be issued to you and the course provided. The process in full is described in the bespoke course process download.
