As Rochdale's extensive Connect2 network passed 40km in length, a special portrait bench has been unveiled with a dawn chorus by children from St. Edward's Primary School in Castleton.
Located on the Rochdale Canal towpath just south of Castleton, between the Norton Grange Hotel and the railway line, the bench features portraits of Dame Gracie Fields, Harriet Ellis (world champion windsurfer) and Lynne Coxell (Headteacher of St Edward's CE Primary school). They were chosen by local school children.
