Ae (7 Stanes trails)

Ae, Scotland’s shortest village name is only 20 minutes from the M74 motorway in Dumfries and Galloway...

But ride its trails and you’ll think you’re in another world.

Newcastleton (7 Stanes trails)

Close to the Scotland-England border, Newcastleton has trails for all levels.

There is plenty of fun to be had here on routes shorter than at most of the other 7stanes.

Dalbeattie (7 Stanes trails)

With its coastal setting and the lack of any big hills, Dalbeattie has a relaxed feel.

However the riding is far from dull - the outcrops of rock and fine views make sure of that.

Kirroughtree (7 Stanes trails)

Kirroughtree, home to some of the best technical singletrack in the country.

Winner of the MBR Trail of the Year in 2010, Kirroughtree is also a favourite family venue with a wide range of trails, seasonal café and a great children’s play area.

Glentress (7 Stanes trails)

Glentress is probably the best biking centre in Britain having won several acclaimed awards. Apart from a buzzing atmosphere it has brilliant trails of all grades, it has a brand new state of the art £8.5m visitor centre with the following facilities:

7-Stanes Trails, Glentrool, Galloway Forest, South Scotland

The unique 'Big Country Route' runs on minor public and forest roads without any singletrack. This route also features some magnificient views of the nearby lochs and hills.

Glentrool has two green-graded routes:

Nant yr Arian, Mid Wales

Nant-yr-Arian forest sits high on the mountains just inland from Aberystwyth, and offers stunning high-level wilderness riding. With trails heading out into the epic scenery of the Cambrian Mountains, this is a fantastic area for those who like their riding rugged. Just be prepared for everything from true mountain climbs to river crossings and technical rocky descents.
