10 must see things at the Cycle Show 2014

If you're heading to Birmhingham this weekend for the Cycle Show there's certainly a lot to see. Here are our suggestions of some of things you really should check out while you're there.

1. The chair. Almost as soon as I got in the doors I started hearing whispers about "the chair." What is furniture doing at the Cycle Show? Two Makers  Andrew McDonald and Simon Taylor have designed and built the Randonneur chair made from Reynolds 631 tubing, using bicycle geometry, traditional frame building techniques and bicycle saddle leather. Hand built on a farm in Kent.

2. New frame builders gallery.

3. Quest88 specialists of inclusive cycles. Quest88 are of of the key suppliers to the CTC inclusive cycling project without which people like Lindsay may not have been able to transform her life so completely. As they're slightly different than traditional cycles they don't have a new range every year like other brands, but you can have a go at a hand cycle sprint race against someone on their stand. (Think Rollapaluza for your arms) Have a go, we dare you! It's amazing fun.

Lake. Six weeks after your local fitting and you could be the owner of a pair of custom made Lake Cycling road shoes. Specifically shaped for optimal power transfer, putting the foot in a position that allows the energy to be focused to the pedal they're clearly aimed at the seriously competitive end of the market. If the union jack ones are a bit too patriotic, they also come in gold or black for those who prefer understatement. For men and women.

6. Mini Hornit. Hornit make the loudest bicycle horn of the cycling world. This one however, is for the little rider in your life, or the kid in you. Mini Hornit is a brightly coloured handle bar accessory is both light and horn. It boasts 25 different horns including the TdF anthem and the General Lee from 80s TV show Dukes of Hazard as well a rainbow of light colours. If little cyclists needed anything to make riding more fun, this ticks the boxes.

7. Wiggo's Tour of Britain Bike It's on the Pinarello stand. It's quite impressive.

8. Shiny. When you're done drooling over the aero beauty that is Sir Bradley's. Have a look at all the smooth steel and sexy carbon on offer to us meer mortals. The Argon 18 is a good place to start justifying your n+1 philosophy.

9. Pistard. It looks like everybody's favourite leather saddle maker Brooks England is really branching out, last year they brought out the Cambium C15 this time they've made a helmet. We'll let you decide, we look forward to your thoughts.

10. Cyclist Welcome. Rounding out our top ten it has to be..stand C67. CTC is at the show to meet members, answer questions, introduce the newly launched and improved Cyclists Welcome website. We've got a competition for a IPad as well, so do come say hello!
