Cycle commuting is a convenient way for people to fit exercise into the daily routine, and work-related travel by cycle helps ease congestion and is good for the economy and the environment. To help, the Government has introduced a range of cycle-friendly tax incentives for employers and employees.

Commuting to work by bike can save time and money

Cycling breakfasts

Employers can provide a tax-free breakfast to cyclists on designated  ‘Cycle to Work’ days, to encourage people to try cycling to work. However, this relief has been repealed and will no longer be available from 6 April 2013. The changes are set out in HMRC's  Cycle to Work Days - Provision of Meals: Repeal of Relief
