Presentations from Newcastle Campaigns Training Day

Newcastle Road Justice and Space for Cycling training day
Carlton Reid from Bike Biz, John Thompson from Road Peace and Katja Leyendecker from Newcycling were all contributors at this Space for Cycling and Road Justice training day.

The design of public space influences our behaviour - this was a key message from the Space for Cycling and Road Justice Campaigns training day in Newcastle on Sunday 14 September. The day attracted around 25 delegates from Carlisle, Durham, Tyneside, Gateshead, as well as Newcastle.

We were particularly grateful to John Thompson from RoadPeace North East who shared his own very moving personal experience of the failings of the legal system when dealing with road traffic victims.

Carlton Reid, Executive Editor of Bike Biz (and also local resident), facilitated a lively session on engaging with the media -  'interviewing' Claire Prospert and Katja Leyendecker from Newcycling on their successful strategies to get positive media coverage.
