Ian Richardson
I first joined CTC as a volunteer to support a cycling session for a group of autistic children in Reading.
Inspired by the experience, I moved from a career in IT and now apply my skills to manage, gain funding for and deliver cycling projects that can make a huge difference to people's lives in Wales, Northern Ireland and North West England.
I’m originally from the Wirral but now live in north Wales. I am a keen road cyclist who has completed LEJOG twice, ridden the Etape du Tour and competed at club level. I now cycle for leisure and fitness near where I live in Snowdonia National Park – it is both inspirational and challenging!
The pride of my bike collection is a Colnago Dream Plus, which I'd choose as a mode of transport over any form of motorised vehicle.
I feel privileged to be part of an organisation that has such a long standing history of supporting cyclists, and hope that my efforts will enable people from all backgrounds to discover the benefits of cycling and become part of the CTC family.
