Chris Oliver took over as Chair of CTC Scotland in January 2012 and members say he has brought ‘new life’ into the organisation.

Chris, a  surgeon, has made many media appearance to promote CTC and meets regularly with senior officials in Transport Scotland and other politicians. He has also worked with other cycling organisations to put CTCS 'on the map'.

Amongst his many achievements he is promoting cycling as a health-giving activity after cycling himself fit and slim from an initial weight of 27 stone.  In May 2013 he is cycling across America - the 3,415-mile cycle ride from Los Angeles to Boston is to raise funds for Water Aid - with his daughter Catherine.  Members say since his joining CTCS meetings are now much more ‘lively’.
