Caroline Waugh

Highly commended: Yorkshire and the Humber, Caroline Waugh.

Caroline has worked tirelessly to support our Hillsborough disability cycling project.

She has turned up every week, through rain and shine to work with and support one of our cycle trainers to run disability sessions. A friendly face and comfortable presence, she has encouraged everyone who attends the project.

Caroline can identify the needs of people with different kinds of disabilities as she has a disability herself. This makes her very sympathetic to the requirements of the people who attend the sessions.

She has always looked for other avenues to promote cycling and the CTC in Sheffield. She is involved with the CTC disability cycling forum and is very vocal and loyal at promoting what CTC is doing.

Caroline is a relative newcomer to cycling but only 18 months on, she says that ‘Cycling is my life’. She uses her bike to get the kids to school and shopping, but most of all she has become a true cyclist.
