The Boathouse Youth is an organization serving the needs of the Bloomfield and Waterloo Wards in South Shore, Blackpool. The club is affiliated with the Church of England through the Diocese of Blackburn.

The areas in which the group works are amongst some of the most deprived in the UK and currently rank in the bottom 3% of the Index of Multiple Deprivation. As a result of this, their mission statement is: The Boathouse Youth aims to help develop every child and young person by unlocking the barriers and restrictions to new challenges and experiences.

There was some low level interest in cycling back in early 2010, but the initial contact to Cycle Blackpool was around road safety. Once they had seen the potential of cycling to achieve their mission statement, they signed up as a Bike Club and CTC affiliate group. A full programme of activity was initiated and the young people were treated to an exciting and innovative year of biking. This culminated in securing a major grant from Sport England and being the first Bike Club in the country to gain youth achievement awards, recognizing the contribution of young people to the activities on offer from their youth club.
