In the past 3 years, the Cambridge Cycling Campaign has emerged as the strongest local voluntary cycle campaigning group in Britain. During that time it has achievement great things including - Grown to nearly 1000 members. Developed a highly sophisticated online cycle journey planner, which other campaign groups around the country are now eager to develop for their own towns.

CCC supported CTC’s Highway Code campaign by getting Cambridge MP David Howarth to table a Commons motion opposing the draft originally laid before Parliament. They overturned a long-standing ban on cycling in the city centre streets in Cambridge and became highly-respected commentators on planning and infrastructure issues. They also published a “2020 Vision for Cycling in Cambridge” and a guide to cycle parking – both superbly written, and produced to exceptionally high standards. They have campaigned to change the rules which prevent councils from allowing two-way cycling on one-way streets by adding a sign-plate saying “except cycles” under the “no entry” sign and issued a bi-monthly newsletter of consistently excellent quality. CCC hosted what is arguably the best organised CTC/CCN joint conference in recent years.
