Alan Surtees
He has done over 30 years of voluntary service to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme as the expedition cycling adviser, during that time he has literally introduced thousands of youngsters into expedition cycling. For this service he was made an MBE in the 2008 New Years Honours Listing. He is a humble and unassuming person who advises and develops people between the ages of 14-25 into cycling in quiet but most dedicated way, as well as working full time and being a husband and dad.
