Shirley Quemby - CTC South West Member Group

This is done by organising cycle workshops in a local college, by organising CTC Dr Bike surgeries in the town centre and local Fairs and events and encouraging every newcomer to our Beginners Group rides.  Shirley writes leaflets and posters and searches out sites and places for their display and presentation.

Shirley has contact with a number of local borough councillors and transport and planning officers and takes every opportunity to ensure that cycle facilities in the borough are increased and maintained.  To this end Shirley sits as a CTC representative on the local council cycle forum so helping to shape borough cycling facility policies and has taken on the task of writing the minutes, which cover several pages, giving a very clear and detailed record of every meeting.

Shirley takes every opportunity to encourage individuals to use their bicycle for both leisure and utility purposes.
