John Steer - CTC South Essex Member Group - Certificate of Merit

Thanks to John’s tireless efforts the South Essex Group is a well supported and active section. Year on year John puts together a most varied and interesting runs list, he organises twice monthly club nights, and promotes and organises other social activities for the club.

John is a natural leader who adds to this the generosity of his time. He participates in many local cycle initiatives and forums promoting links between the various cycling bodies and local authorities and the general public. John is an active fund raiser and recently received recognition for monies raised through cycling event sponsorships in our local area. Through all these activities John promotes and raises the name and profile of the national and local CTC.

When out on rides, be this in Essex, Kent, or France, John actively spreads the word of CTC by handing out membership forms or just chatting with other cyclists we meet along the way. He shows a genuine interest in others and offers encouragement to all.
