Cycle Training

Cycle training has undergone a massive change in the last 10 years from the cycling proficiency test, which was aimed at children, to the National Standards for cycle training and the Bikeability tests, which are also for adults. The National Standards or Bikeability is on the way to being well established in England and Wales. Scotland have their own high quality scheme but also accept The National Standards.

The National Standards are delivered though a network of instructors and instructor training providers

CTC provide a monthly e-newletter for cycle instructors called i-Contact. To recieve a copy please email cycletraining@ctc.org.uk.

News update: Transfer of Instructor Details to the DfT
If you have not completed the survey, by default your details have been transferred to the Department for Transport database under the auspices of Steer Davies Gleave. If you wish your details to be removed from the database please email Steer Davies Gleave.
