With the help of the Parks and Countryside, Sheffield Health Authority and Sheffield City Council the Cycle Back to Health Projects have have been a huge sucess.
The pilot projects have been meeting in two local parks. They start with some introduction into the benifits of cycling. The trained instuctors then introduce some gentle and pleasant cycling through the parks. Bikes are provided along with qualified cycle trainers. The project introduces cycling to people who have had health issues or want to get healthier, fitter and more confident on a bike.
People interested in getting involved should contact gail.griffith@sheffileld.gov.uk or steve.marsden@ctc.org.uk

Disability Cycling in Sheffield
On the 3rd of July we invited people with disabilities to come and try out some bikes from the wheels for all project. "When can we have this facility in Hillsborough Park?" asked one person who tried the bikes.

The Champions Steering Group met at Hillsborough Park to see how we can move the Wheels for all project forward and set up disability cycling project at Hillsborough Park.
Below are some of the group who had a go on the bikes.

We will be having the chance to loan some disability bikes, from the Wheels for all project, for the people of Sheffield to try out and see how much fun you can have, whatever your disability.
22nd April 2008
Sheffield University and Recycle Bikes had a Bike Amnesty day. Staff and students brought in unwanted bikes and donated them to ReCycle.
Steve Marsden CTC Cycle Champion, Pedal Ready and Recycle Bikes repaired over 50 student and staff bikes on the day. Over 100 bikes were donated and will go towards the university and ReCycle project. Sheffield University students will have the opportunity to hire a recycled bike from ReCycle in September.
