Maintenance Courses, Other Maintenance Courses,
Maintenance Couses
“To cycle well you need a bike that fits and works well; and nothing beats being able to fix it yourself.”
There are three cycle maintenance courses provided by CTC. Each are one day's duration and cover the essential principles at each level:
- Road and Trailside Repairs - The fundamentals of bike maintenance; safety and everything you can do with a multi tool
- Advanced Repairs - using specialist tools at home and work
- Fleet Management - Looking after lots of bikes; procedures and protocols, responsibilities and liabilities; ensuring users' safety
The first two courses are provided as open courses (see the calendar pages) with all three courses available as special courses for groups at your venue.
With the scheme designed to be progressive through each course, the first two levels often operate on consecutive days, ensuring that you cover all aspects of fundamental maintenance principles. It is sometimes possible to miss a level where evidence of substantial maintenance experience already exists. All courses help you work on your own bike, with your own tools, with additional equipment available where needed.
Other Bicycle Maintenance Courses
There are a number of other cycle maintenance courses around the UK that will offer you the opportunity to learn about your bike, repairs and general maintenance to ensure your bike is in full working order. CTC have not accredited these courses or take any responsibility for the course structure or contents. If you have any queries, please contact your local course provider directly.
