Access issues/your local Campaigns
If you know of, or have discoverd a right of way that has either been blocked, or lost to the undergrowth and forgotten about, let us know!! We have two ways we maybe able to assist you, firstly you could be put in touch with your local Right to Ride Officer. To do this you'll need to email our Right to Ride coordinator 'Alec McAlden' at righttoride@ctc.org.uk. Right to Ride reperentatives across the UK are always working behind the scenes protecting our access rights, and are indeed a very valuable asset to CTCs local campaigning work.
The second option for the more technical rights of way enquiries, is to contact our Off-road consultant 'Colin Palmer'. In the first instance queries should be sent to andy.hawes@ctc.org.uk
Ian Warby - Senior Off-road Development Officer
ian.warby@ctc.org.uk
Ian joined the CTC in 2006 and heads up Off-road Development. After 10 years as Mr Aston Hill, Ian knows a thing or three about the mountain bike scene.
Ian is working to develop the mountain biking scene nationally in partnership with the leading experts in the field, will also be developing CTC's mountain bike skills training and a National Standard for off-road skills training.
Ian would like to hear from you if you're working to develop mountain biking or interested in finding out more about mountain bike skills training. Ian's development knowledge is becomming more and more comprehensive by the day, and if you looking at developing trails/dirt jumps and tracks in your area, Ian will certainly have some sound advice/assistance to offer.
Andy Hawes - Off-road Officer
01483 238306
andy.hawes@ctc.org.uk
Andy's been riding for over 25 years, and riding off-road for most of that time. When Andy joined CTC in 1998, he enjoyed jumping/flying around on his bike, but as the years have gone by, and the falls got harder.... He now prefers to stay on the ground!
His first love (well nearly first love...), is long distance cross country, having completed a number of Audax rides, Andy's certainly a good point of contact for those looking to undertake the longer stuff.
With a wealth of knowledge on where to ride in the UK, Andy may have a few suggestions for that weekend escape. Equally if you have some trails/events you want to let people know about, please let Andy know, and we'll look at including them in the lists.
