By style I mean how a bike (or whatever) is optimised to make it most suitable for a certain type of cycling. Ultimately we hope to replace this page with a funky Bikefinder Chart but for now a boring list will have to do! If you can’t decide where to start, click on hybrid, since it’s the basic jack-of-all-trades style from which more specialised bicycles diverge.
Although these names all say “bike”, referring to something with two wheels and one saddle, many other configurations of pedal cycle can be had in some if not all of these different styles. Everything comes in general-purpose hybrid style though, so that’s another good reason to start there.
