Phil & Friends

In the Peak District on Sunday 2 August 2009

Phil Liggett, TV's voice of cyling, challenges you to take part in this year's ride on Sunday 2 August 2009.  Starting in Sheffield on the edge of the Peak District, the ride is accessible via public transport.

The routes for this year's rides will be similar to last year's: the classic 150km route, with over 2600m of climbing, including the fearsome Peak District climbs of Holme Moss, Winnats Pass and Monsal Head and the 100km which takes in Holme Moss.   At the same time as treating riders to some stunning scenery, the ride raises much needed funds for CTC’s campaigning work.

This year, the event starts from the Lomas Hall, Stannington, Sheffield, S6 6DB. (NB Wood Lane  Countryside Centre is no longer available) and Phil Liggett, fresh from commentating on the Tour de France, is attending in person this year.

All participants will receive certificates if they wish and have the opportunity to purchase a commemorative T-shirt on the day (or these can be ordered in advance).

For further information, contact CTC on 0844 736 8450 cycling@ctc.org.uk  or click here for the routes and start times: 105km or 150km

150KM RIDERS PLEASE NOTE!

THE B6106 INTO HOLMFIRTH WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC ON SUNDAY 2 AUGUST BUT WE HAVE BEEN ASSURED THAT CYCLISTS AND PEDESTRIANS WILL BE ABLE TO GET THROUGH ON FOOT SO IGNORE THE ROAD CLOSED SIGNS.

Please find entry forms, consent forms and sponsorship forms available to download below: Phil and Friends Downloads:    Entry form    Consent form    Sponsorship and Donations

LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF POSTAL ENTRIES IS WEDNESDAY 29 JULY. ENTRIES CAN ALSO BE MADE ON THE DAY BUT PLEASE BRING COMPLETED FORMS AND THE CORRECT MONEY IF POSSIBLE.  ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME FOR REGISTRATION.  THANKS.
